Need for Speed is  going up against its own video game, which has sold something like 150 million units over its 20-year span. But video races, even with the viewer at the digital wheel, can’t compete with a movie version of the real thing.

Need for Speed received generally mixed response from audiences. The review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes reports that 23% of critics gave the film a positive review based on 143 reviews with an average score of 4.3/10, though 69% of users gave the film a positive review.
