Gone are the days where we would see Emma Watson as a young girl on the red carpet with her Harry Potter co-stars. Now she is a major fashion icon and is gracing the pages of every magazine this month after the premieres of her new movie ‘Noah’.
Her latest look took an elegant twist using a dramatic lip and deep side part and here is how to get the look yourself.
Emma’s makeup is always classic, with a flawless base and emphasis on either lips or eyes. For her latest premier Emma opted for a dramatic lip. To get the look, keep the base matte with a mattifying foundation that isn’t too heavy or dewy. Although Emma has gone for a matte base, she has also injected a little glow using a highlighter. Highlight all the places that the sun would hit to give a beautiful glow such as the tops of the cheek bones, above the brow arch, down the centre of the nose and the top of the cupids bow.
For Emma’s eye makeup, she has gone for peach and berry tones to match her lips, but only light application so that the focus is not taken away from the dramatic lips. A perfect eye shadow palette for this look is New CID Eye Shadow Quad in Blackberry Berry. Apply the peachy shade all over the lid, and use the pink/purple shade to define the crease. Finally, the darkest shade will make a perfect eyeliner to make the lashes appear fuller and the lightest shade is ideal to highlight the brow bone for a little shimmer.
The dramatic lip is our favourite part of Emma’s look. For this choose a berry shade in either a lipstick of a gloss – both will look beautiful with this makeup.
For the hair, the parting is key – part hair deep onto one side. To find the perfect parting, draw an imaginary line from the top of your brow bone where the arch is at its highest, all the way back through the hair.
This look is sleek at the roots but the rest of the hair has texture and rough waves. If your hair is straight, use a large barrelled curling wand to create some loose waves then gently run your fingers through to give a more undone look.
To add more texture, use a texturizing spray such as Sexy Hair Flip It Over Full & Wild Spray. Lift sections of hair and spray at the roots, using your fingers to create as much or as little texture as you prefer.
If your hair needs a little extra help on the length and volume, use clip in hair extensions to give long hair. As long as you choose 100% human hair extensions you will be able to style them like your own hair – you can create waves and texture providing you use a heat protection spray to protect it from any heat damage. You can also trim the ends to blend it in with your style and as the look has a deep side parting, try placing more of the clips to the opposite side of the parting to create beautiful volume and long locks draping over your shoulder.
